About Me

I’m Dr. Leia Greenslade (she/they), AKA the Neurodivergent Social Worker.

I bring over 18 years experience as a social worker and university educator and 28 years experience as a parent to neurodivergent kids.

My work is shaped by a commitment to amplifying lived experience, dismantling ableist systems, and supporting people to thrive without compromising their identities. As a social worker, my foundational value base is rooted in dignity, inclusion, and the unwavering belief in every person’s right to be heard and respected.

My lived experience of disability means that I know how hard the struggles can be to carry, because I live them too. Since my Autism diagnosis over a decade ago, I’ve been advocating for neurodivergent justice. Through co-creating Autistic Family Collective (2013-2016), writing and convening the disability courses in University Bachelor and Masters of Social Work programs, and more recently sharing popular reels on social media that support parents of neurodivergent kids, I’ve worked to create meaningful change in the lives of neurodivergent people.

My private practice is a space where I combine my academic knowledge, my social work skills and my lived experience of disability, to more directly support neurodivergent people and those that support us.

Counselling and Practical Support

Let’s talk.

50 minute online sessions to talk about whatever’s on your mind: burnout, identity, parenting, grief, relationships, masking, or just making sense of the world when it doesn’t quite fit.

Need more practical support? I can help with advocating for yourself or your children, identifying disability accommodations in workplaces, or managing employment challenges. Whether you're dealing with bureaucracy, burnout, or big transitions, I can help you shape systems around your needs, not the other way around.

I tailor every session to you, drawing from a range of therapeutic approaches that honour your neurotype, life experience, and goals. There’s no one-size-fits-all here, just thoughtful, responsive support built around who you are. Together, we’ll create a space that feels safe, respectful, and truly yours.

Let’s explore.

Three online 50 minute sessions to help you understand whether you might be Autistic, ADHD, or both. No long waits, no medical gatekeeping, just thoughtful, guided support grounded in lived experience and current assessment criterion.

We’ll talk through your story, explore Autistic and/or ADHD traits, complete validated screening tools, and make sense of what it all means collaboratively.

This isn’t a formal diagnosis, but it is a valid path. And if you choose to seek a medical assessment later, I can connect you with affirming clinicians.

Some people call this process ‘peer-review’, because you get guided through the exploration by someone who is AuDHD themselves.

Let’s grow.

I offer therapy, coaching, and employment support for NDIS participants who are seeking to better understand themselves, their needs, and how to thrive in a world not always built with them in mind.

For children and young people who find it hard to engage directly with a therapist, I can work with their parent or caregiver instead. Together, we’ll build insight, strategies, and confidence to support your child’s wellbeing and growth in ways that feel safe and sustainable.

Each 1 hour online session is collaborative and adaptable. Whether we’re focusing on self-understanding, executive functioning, emotional regulation, or workplace support, there’s no one-size-fits-all approach, just neurodiversity-affirming, practical, and responsive support shaped around you or your family’s unique needs.

Supervision

Let’s reflect.

I offer supervision for neurodivergent professionals, people working in the disability sector, and anyone grappling with how to stay values-aligned in a neo-liberal practice environment that often pushes in the opposite direction.

In our 50 minute online session, we will create a space to pause, reflect, and reconnect with why you do this work, and how you can show up for it in a way that is authentic for you.

We can talk about ethical tensions, burnout, navigating ableist systems, role clarity, boundaries, or whatever you need. There’s no set formula here. Just thoughtful, responsive support shaped around you, your practice, and your way of processing.
